Plan to join the San Luis Obispo Community Foundation at the Embassy Suites San Luis Obispo for the 9th Annual Women's Legacy Fund Luncheon. The focus of this year's grant program is health and the keynote speaker will be Linda Lewis Griffith, M.A., a local marriage and family therapist and author of "Rattle Fatigue: And you thought you were busy before you had children!" (Impact Publishers, 1986) and "Guide to your Parenting Concerns" (Kindred Books, 1996). Online reservations may be made now at www.sloccf.org/wlftickets. Tickets are $50 each. Tables of eight are $400.
The deadline to reserve seats is Sept. 6, but the event sold out last year two weeks before the event, so it is recommended to reserve a seat early. 9th Annual Women's Legacy Fund Luncheon Thursday, September 15, 2011 12:00 - 2 p.m. Embassy Suites San Luis Obispo Check-in and social time begins at 11:30 a.m. Program starts promptly at 12:10 p.m. Established in 2003, the Women’s Legacy Fund is a permanent endowment held at the San Luis Obispo County Community Foundation. It is the only endowment fund in the County which targets the needs of women and girls alone. Only the earnings will be spent each year, allowing the Legacy to contribute to the community over time. In just a short amount of time, the Women’s Legacy Fund has been embraced by the community with support from more than 300 community members including more than 180 Legacy Leaders contributing more than $1,000 to the fund. Each Legacy Leader has a voice in determining the focus of grants that are distributed each year.
