The San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden will be having its annual Fall Plant Sale on Saturday, October 8. There will be a special Member's Only sale from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. and then will be open to the general public from 10 a.m. to 1 .p.m. This year’s sale will take place up at our Propagation facilities, where you can get a glimpse of where plant propagation magic takes place. Choose from a variety of wonderful Mediterranean region plants just in time for the fall planting season. Volunteers will be on hand to answer questions and help you make the right choices for your landscaping plans. And be sure to browse the annual gently-used garden book sale while munching on some goodies and sipping a cup of coffee. Then at 1 p.m., join us up at the Oak Glen Pavilion for a tree identification workshop with Dr. Matt Ritter. Dr. Ritter will introduce you to cuttings and pictures of California's common trees and the features that define them. Have you always wondered what tree sits outside your house? Bring a cutting and Matt will help you identify it. Matt will use keys and photos from his new book, A California's Guide to the Trees Among Us, to make tree identification easy for the professional and amateur. Members $5, non-members $10. A children’s fall planting event will take place in the Garden of Exploration concurrently; donations accepted. For more information contact Kristina Van Wert at (805) 541-1400 ext 305 or
