The Marilyn Greenberg Jazz Series brings the KIM RICHMOND QUARTET to the Art Center today at 8 p.m. Kim is a Grammy nominated musician based in Los Angeles. Primarily a saxophonist, he doubles on fl utes and clarinet. A jazz stylist, he holds a great respect among his peers as both a player and composer/arranger. Kim has been a member of the orchestras of Stan Kenton, Bob Florence and Vinny Golia. Kim is also a consummate educator.
He is a professor in the Jazz Studies department of USC and does numerous jazz camps and clinics each year. Whatever his mode of expression, be it instrumental performance, composition, arranging and conducting, Kim Richmond strives to express a uniquely original voice in our evolving musical world.
