Auditions for the Clark Center Search for the Stars Competition will be held on Aug. 21, in the Studio Theatre of the Clark Center for the Performing Arts in Arroyo Grande. Twenty-two acts will be selected to compete in the semifinals of the competition that will be held on Sept. 18 at 7 p.m. Five theater and music professionals, including a radio personality, casting/booking directors, an Emmy award winner and a music producer, will choose 10 contestants to return after intermission to perform a second song with live accompaniment by the Jim Townsend Blues Band, and compete to win the grand prize.
The grand prize winner will receive $300 cash, 10 tickets to any 2010-11 Clark Center Association show and the opportunity to perform as the opening act for a Clark Center Association show during the 2010-2011 Season. The Second prize winner will receive $200 and tickets and the third prize will be $100 and tickets. Auditions are by appointment only. The Clark Center will begin accepting applications on August 1.
