Brian Trapp, sales director for Barnett Cox and Associates, a San Luis Obispo-based marketing firm, has been chosen as the presenter for a series of business support workshops produced by the Business and Entrepreneurship Center at Cuesta College. Israel Dominguez, executive director of the center, said the college is embarking on an aggressive schedule of presentations designed to reach into the local market and provide real world information for businesses. Topics include sales development, social media, marketing and other subjects designed to help boost business bottom lines.
According to Dominguez, Trapp was chosen for his proven industry knowledge and top flight presentational skills. “The BEC is pleased to find a partner with the talents Brian brings to the project,” he said. Created by the Economic Workforce Development Program through California Community Colleges, the Business and Entrepreneurship Center is part of a network of community college professionals working in strategic partnerships with businesses, industry and community organizations to identify and meet California's economic development needs in the areas of business improvements and entrepreneurship training. Dominguez said the local center is working with area chambers of commerce and other organizations to host monthly workshops that are currently scheduled through June 2012. The first event is scheduled on Jan. 26 in Pismo Beach. Additional information is available at http://academic.cuesta.edu/bec/Events.htm.
