Hospice SLO will be “jazzing” up Castoro Cellars this Labor Day Weekend to raise funds for its Paso Robles location during the 2nd Annual Hope & Harmony Benefit Concert. Local favorites The Red Skunk Jipzee Swing Band and The Tipsy Gypsies will perform at the outdoor benefit concert held at Castoro Cellars on Sept. 3 from 7:15 to 10 p.m., with doors opening at 6:15 p.m. Hospice SLO is an incorporated non-profit 501 (c) (3) agency with offices located in San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles. Governed by a twelve member Board of Directors, Hospice SLO has been providing uninterrupted services since 1977 and continues to rely 100 percent on community donations, fund raising events, grants and bequests.
Using community financial support and volunteer support programs, Hospice SLO supports individuals and families who are facing life-threatening illness. Eligible individuals include and are not limited to patients of home health agencies, residents of skilled nursing facilities and retirement communities, in-home clients, and bereaved families. Empathic volunteer support programs include in-home respite care; a bereavement program; a supportive music program; community education, training and resource center; a children’s program; and services in Spanish. Hope & Harmony will include a BBQ dinner provided by St. James Community Outreach, silent auction and raffle with the grand prize of a brand new Sanyo Eneloop Hybrid Bicycle worth $2,000. Tickets available are $30 for general admission. $50 preferred tickets includes front row seating, complimentary BBQ dinner, and 2 drink tickets.
