The community will gather to enjoy a fun, relaxing afternoon and the many tastes and flavors San Luis Obispo has to offer at this year's Flavor of SLO event on May 23. Participants will be given the rare experience of sampling food and beverage side by side from more than 20 local restaurants, breweries and wineries. Tickets are on sale now at www.flavorofslo.com for anywhere between $5 (for kids) and $30.
Attendees can step to the beat of live music with Bare Feet as well as Valerie Johnson & Al B. Blue. There will also be a silent auction with donations from dozens of local businesses.
This event will take place in beautiful downtown San Luis Obispo at Mitchell Park from 12 to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 23. The Flavor of SLO was created in 2009 by Jessica Sisco to both promote and display local restaurants and wineries, as well as benefit the community through its support of two local non-profits.
This year, the event will benefit The United Way of San Luis Obispo County and the local non-profit SLO Alpha. Continuing tradition, the Flavor of SLO is championed by a Senior Project team of Cal Poly students who have dedicated their time to enhancing and enriching the legacy left by Jessica Sisco and the wildly successful first year of this classy yet comfortable event.
The Flavor of SLO is a non-profit promotional fundraising event benefitting SLO ALPHA, Inc. and the United Way of San Luis Obispo County. This event was created as a Senior Project with the purpose of stimulating interest in local restaurants and wineries of San Luis Obispo County while also offering an enjoyable and affordable experience for all residents of San Luis Obispo.
