Thursday, 13 May 2010 09:52

On Sunday, May 23 hundreds of community are expected to gather to celebrate one of this area’s most generous citizens, Diane Blakeslee Brocato.

Brocato has supported the growth of the San Luis Obispo Museum of Art since its early days as an Art Association in the 1960s. All the arts organizations in the county owe much of their success to her philanthropic spirit.

"Everyone who enjoys the rich cultural life in this area will want to attend this lively and entertaining event sponsored by the Museum of Art,” says Luba Staller, event chair. The Celebration begins in the museum galleries at 4 p.m. with a special collectors’ edition of local wine and appetizers, then moves to the Mission Plaza for a gourmet dinner catered by Meagan Loring, accompanied by fine local wines.

Emcee Gil Stork will orchestrate the event. Tickets are $75 per person or $600 for a table of eight. Personal tributes honoring Diane’s community service are available in the souvenir program for $250. Visa and Master
Card are accepted.

Advance reservations are required. Call 543-8562, ext 14 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
