Journey back to the raucous period of the mid-1960s as Vina Robles Winery hosts the “British Invasion,” a live concert tribute to the classic hits from the British Rock n’ Roll era, at the winery’s hospitality center in Paso Robles on Aug. 27.
“Last year’s event was a great success and together we raised over $3,000 for the charity.” said Simone Michel, the winery’s director of customer relations and marketing. “British Invasion has already become a local favorite. We invite everyone to come on out, get groovy and enjoy a summer evening with us.” The event, which is a benefit for Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Luis Obispo County and the Paso Robles High School Boosters, will be broadcasted live by The Krush 92.5 on behalf of their “Live in the Vines” show and hosted by Seth Blackburn of Q104.5 FM. Classic British 1960s hits will be performed by Central Coastbased band Unfinished Business. The five man group has been performing since 2003.
Tickets are $25 per person, $20 for Signature Wine Club members. The doors open at 5:30 p.m. with music starting at 7 p.m. Guests are encouraged to dress in their grooviest 1960s-style attire. Lawn seating. English-style fish and chips and Vina Robles wines will be available for purchase throughout the evening. A silent auction will feature a selection of outstanding wines from local wineries. Festivities will also include an airing of the Beatles’ famous first appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1964, followed by Martin Scorsese’s critically acclaimed documentary on the Rolling Stones, Shine A Light, in the Vina Robles Signature Room. Guests will also have the opportunity to marvel at a selection of British automobiles and vintage motorcycles courtesy of the MINI Maniacs Car Club and local enthusiast Steve Eorio.
