Per Bacco Cellars, Clesi Wines, Filipponi Ranch Cellars, Salisbury Vineyards, Chamisal Vineyards, Edna Valley Vineyard, and other local San Luis Obispo County Wineries will create delectable bites of signature grilled dishes paired with their own, select wines. There will also be a special appearance by Central Coast Brewing.

Attendees will also be treated to live music by Sleepy Guitar Johnson, native plants and gardening items from Growing Grounds Downtown and gourmet samples from local vendors including Bella Pops, CookWell with Courtney, The California Bee Company, Chaparral Gardens, and Tiber Canyon Ranch. Attendees will also have the option to purchase bottles of their favorite wine at the event store.

The Paso Wine Country Alliance is working with 15 Degrees C Wine Shop & Bar to showcase San Luis Obispo County Wines at the Mission Square Wine Bar during the California Mid-State Fair.

The fair ends this Sunday and fair goers are invited to enjoy the hustle and bustle of the fair and then stop by and enjoy a glass of wine or draft beer in the shade. During the fair, Mission Square has been featuring award-winning Paso Robles wines by the glass, different daily wine flights from the Central Coast Wine Competition Award winners as well as a selection of beer, various cheeses and olive oils.

Journey back to the raucous period of the mid-1960s as Vina Robles Winery hosts the “British Invasion,” a live concert tribute to the classic hits from the British Rock n’ Roll era, at the winery’s hospitality center in Paso Robles on Aug. 27.

“Last year’s event was a great success and together we raised over $3,000 for the charity.” said Simone Michel, the winery’s director of customer relations and marketing. “British Invasion has already become a local favorite. We invite everyone to come on out, get groovy and enjoy a summer evening with us.”

The event, which is a benefit for Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Luis Obispo County and the Paso Robles High School Boosters, will be broadcasted live by The Krush 92.5 on behalf of their “Live in the Vines” show and hosted by Seth Blackburn of Q104.5 FM. Classic British 1960s hits will be performed by Central Coastbased band Unfinished Business. The five man group has been performing since 2003.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Luis Obispo County is hosting their Big Event Wine Tasting and Auction on Sunday, July 17 from 2 to 6 p.m.

For the first time, the event will be hosted at Embassy Suites and has new presenting sponsor, American Perspective Bank. The red carpet themed event will feature wine and food tasting with a dozen top local wineries and restaurants.

The auction includes trips, jewelry, and local hotel packages.  A special raffle will feature Hearts on Fire Diamonds donated by Kevin Main Jewelry. Admission is $45 and includes unlimited wine and food tasting as well as red carpet entertainment from Rich Ferguson, and Minds Eye Photography.  Scotty’s Crew, Trombone and Friends will play classic Hollywood tunes. 

San Luis Obispo County Department of Social Services Employment Services Programs presents "Bridging Success for our Community and our Employers," a series of employer focus groups that will discuss the development of a subsidized employment program in the county.

The Department of Social Services wants to hear about employers' biggest staffing challenges, and find solutions for local businesses by getting input from local business owners.

Employer focus groups are being held on the following dates:

• July 19 at the Atascadero Library, 6850 Morro Road, Atascadero.
• July 20 at the San Luis Obispo Library, 995 Palm Street San Luis Obispo.
• July 21 at the South County Regional Center, 800 W. Branch St, Arroyo Grande.

The Central Coast Celebration Chorus presents its annual show Pink Champagne at the Clark Center for the Performing Arts on July 9. Pink Champagne is a sparkling blend of musical memories full of classic songs from the 50s and 60s that any audience will know and love. It is a variety show taken from the Lawrence Welk tradition - combining wholesome entertainment with popular music and good humor that the whole family can enjoy. Lunafest, a traveling short film festival, is coming through San Luis Obispo this month and will be featured at the San Luis Obispo Museum of Art.

On July 11 from 6 to 9 p.m., the SLO Museum of Art will present an evening of exceptional shorts films. The festival is designed to simultaneously promote women filmmakers, raise awareness for women's issues, and support worthy women's nonprofit organizations throughout the US and Canada. Lunafest was established in 2000 by Luna, the makers of the whole nutrition bar for women.

Texas country music sensation Josh Abbott Band is coming through San Luis Obispo to play the SLO Brewing Co. on Saturday, July 16.
