Join the Family Care Network for the 8th Annual Taste of the Central Coast - a fine food and wine tasting event paired with a live and silent auction that benefits foster and high-needs children and families on the Central Coast.

This relaxing and elegant afternoon event will be held at the Cypress Ridge Pavilion in Arroyo Grande on Sept. 18 from 3 to 6:30 p.m., and will showcase nearly 40 local restaurants, dessert establishments, world-class wineries, breweries and live music. 

Come celebrate the release of Talley Vineyard’s renowned 2009 single vineyard Pinot Noirs from the Arroyo Grande and Edna Valleys on Aug. 27 from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the tasting room.

The second annual SLO GranFondo is scheduled and it is certain to be a memorable cycling experience. With rides for a variety of cyclists, there is guaranteed to be something for everyone. All proceeds from the ride will go to ALPHA and the Coalition.

Bicycling is making a comeback, and we have the tools to make it easier for you. Our workshops are a great way to boost your confidence on a bike and to learn some useful tricks for riding around town.

The workshop is held on Aug. 20 from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Coalition Headquarters.

On Labor Day Weekend, for the 20th year in a row, the San Luis Obispo Symphony will return to Avila Beach, and transform a golf course into a concert hall for a family-friendly, community event that has become a Central Coast tradition.

On Sunday, Sept. 4, Maestro Michael Nowak and the San Luis Obispo Symphony will present “Pops: Summer of the Love,” an orchestral summer “Pops” concert, featuring the music of the late 1960s and early '70s, the music that defined a generation.

The 20th Annual Pops by the Sea concert at the Avila Beach Golf Resort will feature Grammy-winning guitarist and vocalist Louie Ortega and will be hosted by KSBY TV’s Jeanette Trompeter. Gates open at 2:30 p.m. and the concert will begin at 4 p.m.
