Leadership San Luis Obispo Class XIX members held a special ribbon cutting ceremony on Nov. 19 to celebrate the completion of their legacy project – an outdoor classroom and playground for the San Luis Obispo Child Development Center (SLOCDC).
SLO City Manager Katie Lichtig, SLO County Supervisors Adam Hill and James Patterson, Sen. Sam Blakeslee's Field Representative Hans Poschman and newly elected SLO County Sheriff Ian Parkinson toured the facility prior to the ribbon cutting, which took place at 1720 Bishop Street in San Luis Obispo.
The ribbon cutting ceremony was presented by the San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce.

The construction of the legacy project began on Sept. 11, 2010, when Leadership SLO Class XIX’s 36 volunteers joined together with local businesses, organizations and individuals to help the SLOCDC. The class asked that the community donate items or volunteer time, not money, to help keep the project going.
