Eco-friendly children's store opens doors in SLO PDF Print E-mail

ecobambino ribbon cutting New children’s store EcoBambino opened downtown San Luis Obispo last weekend. EcoBambino is a locally-owned, eco-friendly shop, unique to downtown and the Central Coast.

Co-owners, Ariana Spaulding and Amanda Spaulding, hosted the Grand Opening Celebration on Saturday, September 25 and opened their doors to a crowd of anxious customers.

“We had great attendance on Saturday. Families came in together and the kids had a blast during song and story time. And the train table in the play area was a big hit with the kids and parents,” says Ariana.

The newly renovated and redecorated 2,500 square-foot store, designed in part by local graphic designer Pierre Rademaker, looks fresh, modern and is kid-friendly. Customers enjoy the warm and inviting interior colors and the variety of products on the shelves, and most importantly, families can meander through the store easily with a stroller.

Located downtown between Ross and Forden’s on Monterey Street, EcoBambino is dedicated to offering a wide selection of natural and safe products for babies and children up to 6 years old, including kids shoes up to size 13. EcoBambino offers products that are free of BPA, phthalates, lead and PVC, in order to create a healthy environment for children and working to preserve the planet.

Ariana says, “Amanda and I are thrilled with the way the Grand Opening went. And we can’t wait to help local families become more aware of healthy alternatives for their kids.”

EcoBambino will continue to provide a fun and interactive experience where parents can bring their children for weekly song and story time, a play area and occasional arts & crafts projects. EcoBambino will also host informative sessions for parents about topics such as baby carriers, cloth diapering, breastfeeding and green living.
