The San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce welcomed new member Gennaro's Grill & Garden with a special ribbon cutting ceremony at it's location in an Old Victorian setting. Gennaro's Grill & Garden is a restaurant in San Luis Obispo, Calif. that features classic Northern Italian cuisine with a continental flair that includes fresh seafood and vegetarian dishes. All of the pastas are homemade and our breads and desserts are prepared in Gennaro's kitchen daily.
Gennaro's Grill & Garden offers wines from the Central Coast, Napa Valley, Sanoma and of course Italy all chosen with passionate devotion that stems from Gennaro’s extensive experience as the Chief Wine Stewart on cruise lines. The restaurant also have a full bar service and is the only restaurant in San Luis Obispo to offer a unique Fossil Fuels beer created by Dr. Raul Cano, a former microbiologist professor at Cal-Poly State University. Cano used amber obtained from Burma and revived a bacterium which had lain dormant for 45-million years. In essence, he isolated the long lost ancestors of modern brewing yeast. The resulting brew can now be enjoyed exclusively at Gennaro’s Grill & Garden. Gennaro Rosato, the proprietor, is an experienced and renowned restaurateur, and former owner of Benvenuti Ristorante enjoyed by many SLO residents for 14 years. He also owned Gennaro’s Ristorante in Glendale for 25 years and Il Gazebo. He was the proud recipient of the prestigious Automobile Club’s Four Diamond Award for several consecutive years. His restaurant was voted “One of the best Italian Restaurants in America” by Veronelli Publishing, recipient of the “Di Rona Award for Excellence in Dining” and also featured in Wine Spectator Magazine – The Best Restaurants for Wine Lovers, and received one of the highest Zagat ratings. Rosato sold Benvenuti Ristorante in 2005. He has now returned to the same charming location with the goal of creating the ultimate dining experience at attractive prices.
