The swim course is 0.5 miles and takes place at the SLO Swim Center. Each participant swims 36 widths, straight-line swim, in the Olympic-sized pool. All SLO Swim Center rules must be obeyed. Each participant is required to bring his or her own lap counter. Only the participant and their lap counter will be allowed on the pool deck. The bike course is 15.3 miles. Cyclists leave the SLO Swim Center parking lot and proceed to Orcutt Road for the majority of the out and back course. The course is full of rolling hills. Participants must obey all traffic laws. Portions of the bike course will be open to auto traffic. HELMETS ARE REQUIRED. All helmets must be designed for cycling, must be ANSI, SNELL, or CPSC certified and must be manufactured no earlier than 2004 with no visible damage. The running course is 3.1 miles. The run travels along the Railroad Recreational Trail before heading on City sidewalks and streets to the finish at the Sinsheimer Park Baseball Stadium. The course is mostly flat with a long hill towards the end. Runners are required to stay on sidewalks and obey all traffic laws.
