The San Luis Obispo Symphony has named five new members to its board of directors, completing the roster of directors that began their term in July 2011. New board members include Jeff Brady, founder and chairman of CygNet Software (now part of Weatherford International, Ltd.); Craig Darnell, certified financial planner at Blakeslee & Blakeslee; Diane Heath, owner of Heath Haven Ranch; Suzanne Parker, manager of policy, government and public affairs at Chevron Corporation; Liz Summer, business development officer at Wells Fargo Bank.
These hardworking new board members join returning board members Cindy Marie Absey, director of the San Luis Obispo County Victim Witness Assistance Program; Marian Anderson, vice president/client relationship manager for Santa Barbara Bank & Trust; Remonia Ashmore, director of Medical Surgical Nursing at Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center; Linda Ashworth, retired Cal Poly Genetics professor; India D’Avignon, Cal Poly College of Liberal Arts professor; Dianne Draze, retired business owner; Carl Dudley, senior vice president business development at Mission Community Bank; Maureen Eyerman, dietitian at Community Action Partnership of SLO; Fred Friedman, Cal Poly Engineering professor; Gael Brown Humphrey, Trader Joe’s crew member; Jeff McKeegan, owner of Marshalls Jewelers; Victoria Schmidt, clinical dietitian at Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center; and Tricia Volk, owner of Kenneth Volk Vineyards. Since 1961, the San Luis Obispo Symphony has grown from a fledgling community orchestra to a thriving cultural presence that has toured the world, playing well-known venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Sydney Opera House and the Walt Disney Concert Hall.
