SLO Library offers useful information for job hunters PDF Print E-mail

In response to a very successful job hunting workshop series held earlier this year, the San Luis Obispo Library is offering a second series of free workshops. 

Workshops will be taught by Kelly Andreson, M.S. Counseling and Guidance and George Brusch, a volunteer computer docent at the library.

All sessions take place from 9 to 11 a.m. at the San Luis Obispo Library second floor computer lab, 995 Palm Street in San Luis Obispo. 

Participants may sign up for one, two or all three sessions which are as follows:

  • Session #1 – Saturday, June 19, 2010: E-mail sign up, job searching web sites, networking, informational interviews and job/career resources.
  • Session #2 – Saturday, July 24, 2010: Resumes and cover letters.
  • Session #3 – Saturday, August 21, 2010: Three stages of interviewing:  preparing, executive and follow-up.

Registration is required – please call (805) 781-5989 to reserve a place. Sessions will be limited to 15 persons.

One-on-one assistance with follow-up on these sessions is available on most Tuesday evenings, 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Reference Desk at the San Luis Obispo Library.  Please call the above number to reserve a session.
