Nominations are open for the third annual Central Coast Community Impact Awards, honoring individuals and organizations that advance the quality of life on the Central Coast. The Selection Committee encourages nominations to be submitted by the public for these four awards before the deadline of July 30: - Outstanding Non-Profit Organization of the Year
- Outstanding Volunteer of the Year
- Outstanding Philanthropist of the Year
- Outstanding Business of the Year
For the first time, all nominees will be recognized at a special outdoor reception and ceremony at Avila Beach on September 9.
The Awards will be issued to one nominee in each category on December 2 at an elegant awards banquet at the Monarch Club in Nipomo. Nomination forms and complete details on each category are available on the new Community Impact Awards website at www.CentralCoastImpact.org or from K-LIFE 89.3 FM and 890AM, the presenting radio stations, by calling (805) 541-4343. Inspiring videos of previous years’ recipients can be seen on the official website. These winners include Jack’s Helping Hand, Family Care Network, Trilogy Central Coast, Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center, Beverly Aho, Betsy Ehrler, Jim Sargen and Dan and Scott Pace. The Host Committee is comprised of 20 community leaders and is co-chaired by Dr. Rene Bravo and James Diani. The awards were established by local non-profit radio stations K-LIFE 89.3 FM and 890AM. Station Executive Director Jon Fugler serves as the Director of the Community Impact Awards, and Erin Kidwell is the Coordinator. "The goal of the Awards is to celebrate the values, citizenry and quality of life unique to our community," said Fugler. "The nominees and recipients of the Awards exemplify unselfish service, sacrifice and commitment to our community." K-LIFE 89.3 FM and 890 AM are a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, governed by a volunteer Board of Directors: founder Dan Lemburg, Gary Aanerud, Ellen Liljekvist, Leon Maksoudian, Pat Nugent, Steve Potratz, Chuck Treatch and Dr. Dan Woods. |
