Mission Prep students raise hundreds for Big Brothers Big Sisters PDF Print E-mail

Mission Preparatory School seniors Nicole Mainini, Andrea Conway and Jill Mueller recently presented a check to Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Luis Obispo County.

These ladies are volunteers with Big Brothers Big Sisters School Based Mentoring program at Sinsheimer Elementary School, where they presented the check. Bigs and their Littles cheered and clapped for these girls, thanking them for their contribution.

Mainini, Conway and Mueller raised the funds at a school event, Kids Day Out, in which children came to Mission Preparatory School for an afternoon of crafts and activities.

They raised over $200 to donate to Big Brothers Big Sisters’ annual Volunteer Appreciation Party, which took place in April.

The girls also assisted in planning the party, making hundreds of water balloons, and welcoming the guests. The efforts of these three ladies helped hundreds of people celebrate the relationships they have built within the program.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Luis Obispo County has matched more than 1300 children with caring role models since 1995. For more information on BBBS, call 781-3226, or log onto www.slobigs.org.
