Talley Vineyards will be hosting their fourth annual Mano Tinta revolving artist competition in March. Mano Tinta is a charity wine supported by a community effort including label artwork donated by local artists. Labels created for past vintages of the Mano Tinta wine have featured a 9-year-old child’s vision of a vineyard, a tribute to the farm worker and a beautiful hand shaped kaleidoscope of imagery reflecting the wine making process and vineyard worker. The label art competition is open to the general public and submissions are welcomed from artists of all ages. Local artists may submit their display-ready artwork to the Talley Vineyards tasting room by March 7.
Submitted pieces will be displayed for public viewing and voting in the Talley Vineyards tasting room throughout the month of March. Submissions must be accompanied by a completed entry form and should be innovative and meaningful. The winner will be announced within the first week of April and their artwork will be showcased on the 2008 Mano Tinta label, website, T-shirts and posters. Entry forms and specific guidelines can be found on the Talley Vineyards website. The Mano Tinta wine is made entirely from donated goods, including grapes, packaging and labor. One hundred percent of the profits raised from the sales of this wine are donated to The Fund for Vineyard and Farm Workers; an endowment created by Brian and Johnine Talley that benefits organizations utilized by vineyard and farm workers in San Luis Obispo County.
