United Staffing Associates’ Corporate Manager of Training and Development Mark Montanez recently received the 2010 Suggs Award from the Rotary Club of San Luis Obispo for demonstrating the highest level of ethical standards and professionalism throughout 2009-2010.
The rotary club's annual Suggs Outstanding Employee recognition award was established in honor of the award program’s founder and former San Luis Obispo Rotary Club President, Gary Suggs, to recognize Rotarians’ superior employees.
Betsey Nash, United Staffing Associates (USA) Director of Human Resources said that Montanez is “one of those precious employees who has the best interest of the organization at heart. He has served in several positions in the company and is currently pitching in and managing our San Luis Obispo and Santa Maria branch offices and has doubled his workload when we needed to cut our overhead last year.” Nash added. “Mark is more than the sum of his titles: you can go to Mark for anything - from benefits to time off, to applicant interviews, to training, to placements: he knows it all,” Nash said.
Montanez, a former board member of the Human Resources Association of the Central Coast, says he was honored to receive the Suggs recognition. Montanez accredits his success at USA to principles learned in his former career which includes working 14 years for a San Luis Obispo non-profit company that specializes in assisting people with developmental disabilities. Since joining USA in 2005, Montanez provides training and support to the internal staff of the company and offers HR assistance when needed. Montanez also evaluates and assists with company policy and implementation, creates new company protocols, policies, procedures, and streamlines company efficiency.
