Shining a positive light on evidence that the economy is coming back, San Luis Obispo marketing firm Verdin Marketing Ink (VMI) recently announced three promotions and one new hire. Two new major clients, the California Space Authority and the San Luis Obispo County Tourism Business Improvement District, represent exciting growth for the company. “The last 12 months have been remarkable,” said VMI President Mary Verdin. “Last July we purchased an office condo and designed it to match the flow of our business and our culture, we’ve partnered with a national ad agency, enabling us to expand our capabilities, and, because community is at the heart of who we are, we’ve now donated almost $200,000 in time and money to local nonprofits organizations since 2003.”
Verdin said that business has been picking up as well, and that the nine-person firm has put systems into place to accommodate their growing list of clients. Cary Woll joins VMI as a Marketing Specialist, working with such clients as French Hospital, the City of San Luis Obispo’s Shop SLO Dine SLO program, and as part of the team for the SLO County Tourism BID. Carissa Nepstead was promoted from Media Coordinator to Marketing Specialist, now assisting clients including SLO Credit Union, Jack’s Helping Hand and the City of San Luis Obispo’s Office of Neighborhood Services and Utilities Dept. Danielle Taylor has been promoted to Production Coordinator, handling vendor relations, trafficking, and monitoring deadlines. And Nikki Whitlock steps up into a full-time position as Public Relations Assistant upon her graduation from Cal Poly earlier this month.
