To celebrate its 21st year in business, the Abella Garden Inn Bed & Breakfast in Arroyo Grande now offers a unique experience for Tea Lovers. The inn has opened its doors to the public for teas parties – bridal and baby showers, birthdays, anniversaries and many other “event teas.”

As an added bonus, the inn also rents its primrose garden “oasis” with a running stream and waterfalls for intimate weddings.

The bi-lingual Innkeeper/owner Gina Glass is an ordained clergyperson who can perform a wedding ceremony at the inn or at another private location. 

Enjoy a variety of quality teas, including fresh teas from our gardens, along with a traditional English Luncheon or Afternoon Tea, or be adventurous and try Gina's Luncheon or Afternoon Tea with an "Italian twist" that includes old-world Italian delicacies, scones, "frittatas", puffed pastry filled with fresh fruits, and Glass's own sandwich creations.

“Born and raised in Italy, the daughter of a very poor family, there were three things in my life that made me feel alive and loved: Lots of people, music, and lots of food from the farm,” Glass said. “Today, as I cook for you in my Tea Room, I recreate those things that brought so much love to my heart and share that ‘love’ with you.”

Glass only uses fresh, locally grown, pesticide-free produce from Rutiz Family Farms in Arroyo Grande, which uses organic soil and all-natural growing methods. Everything made in the Abella kitchen is homemade with love and is never pre-processed.

“I use real butter, whole milk, extra-virgin olive oil, heavy whipping cream and I wash each individual leaf of lettuce one-by-one,” Glass said. “And because what food is cooked in is as important as how it's grown, I avoid baking my food in anything that is plastic coated or aluminum and use instead only cast iron, glass or stainless steel cookware.”
