Local business newspaper wins top Journalism Awards PDF Print E-mail

The Pacific Coast Business Times is the winner of two first-place honors in the 53rd annual Southern California Journalism Awards.

The region's only weekly business publication won first place in both the business news and hard news categories at the Los Angeles Press Club's annual awards.

In business news, finance reporter Marlize van Romburgh was honored for "Foreclosure Fiasco's Ground Zero: Ventura County offices churned out paperwork," a look at the meltdown in processing that occurred at Countrywide's data center in Simi Valley.

In hard news, the newspaper's editorial team, including Marlize van Romburgh, Stephen Nellis, Henry Dubroff and former staffer Tony Biasotti, were honored for "Pacific Capital's Ford Infusion," breaking news coverage of the recapitalization of Santa Barbara Bank & Trust's parent company.
