The results from a recent survey suggest that San Luis Obispo residents overwhelmingly support bringing the Google fiber optic trial to SLO.
Of the 844 people polled, 98% said they would still support the project even if they would be personally impacted by the under-grounding or construction process. And 94% said having high-speed Internet services is very important to them.
With today being the deadline to nominate San Luis Obispo for this opportunity, these survey results may be the final push to “Make SLO Fast” and get Google to choose the city for this trial. Hundreds of cities across the nation are vying for the same opportunity, and some have relied on stunts and gimmicks to procure their nomination. But SLO has seen a sophisticated grass-roots movement blossom in the form of the “Make SLO Fast” movement.
