FunRide, a local car-sharing service that features alternative fuel vehicles to rent on an hourly basis, reported last month that it received a dramatic increase in the use of FunRide vehicles over the summer, and that it has increased its vehicle fleet, adding one 15-passenger van located at the Holiday Inn Express. The van is a great resource for visiting guests and locals who need to move kids around for sporting events. Even nonprofit agencies are using the van to shuttle guests at their special events. The van is easy to drive and you do not need a special license.
The local company has seen a dramatic increase in use of the FunRide vehicles over the summer, and it is encouraging customers to make their reservations as early as possible if they need a vehicle for an event or a meeting. A FunRide customer service agent is available 24-hours a day, seven days a week to assist customers in joining FunRide or scheduling a vehicle. Just call (805) 547-2225. FunRide is also setting up a Green Car Show up at Hearst Castle from 1 to 4 pm before the C5 Meet the Members Reception on Sunday, Oct. 3.
