French Hospital welcomes new board members PDF Print E-mail

French Hospital Medical Center (FHMC) is proud to announce the recent appointments of three community leaders to its Community Governing Board. 

Patricia Gomez, is a local attorney and San Luis Obispo resident for more than 2 decades. Gomez brings an acute awareness of local human services and health related challenges facing our community. 

Ben Kulick, is a San Luis Obispo native and successful entrepreneur in many business ventures. Kulick has a strong background in modern physics, engineering, and finance and has been a research fellow at California Institute of Technology and Montana State University.

Jim Lokey was the former President & CEO of Mid-State Bank & Trust and most recently President of Community Banking for Rabobank, N.A. Lokey has been very active as a community volunteer for several local and state organizations:  Director and Past President of the Foundation for the Performing Arts; Director and Past President of the UCSB Economic Forecast Project; Director, Ventura County Medical Resource Foundation; Director, California Banker Association; and a member of the FHMC Foundation.

The Community Board’s role is to ensure the hospital’s mission of delivering compassionate, high-quality, affordable health services, partnering with others in the community to improve quality of life and advocating for those who are poor and disenfranchised.  

“These new members join some of San Luis Obispo’s most prominent and respected business men and women, and physicians. Each brings a passion to ensure our community has the highest quality of health care,” says Alan Iftiniuk, President and CEO, French Hospital Medical Center.

Macias, MD, Central Coast Pediatrics; Cornel Morton, PhD, VP Student Affairs Cal Poly; Greg Morris, Owner Morris & Garritano; Sister Marianne Rasmussen, OSF, Retired Teacher/Administrator; Kevin Rice, Pismo Beach City Manager; Sister Jeanne Rollins, OSF, Senior Adult Ministry – St. Patrick’s Parish – Care and Support Services; James Malone, MD, FHMC Chief of Staff (as of Jan 1, 2010); Mark Soll, M.D, Central Coast Chest Consultants; Ke-Ping Tsao, M.D., Plastic Surgeon; John Ronca Jr., Attorney-at-Law; Rabbi Norm Mendel, Rabbi Emeritus, Congregation Beth David.
