Social networking, obesity, tips for small business in a bad economy and previews of a SLO LIttle Theater production were on the morning's agenda.

Ann McDermott spoke about a weighty situation - childhood obesity. As head of the new Cal Poly Center for Obesity Prevention and Education, McDermott is creating partnerships to fight obesity locally and working to establish the center as national leader on the subject. She discussed those efforts and her perspective on the growing problem of childhood obesity.

Henry Dubroff, a former big city business editor, founded and now edits the Pacific Coast Business Times. He shared his unique perspective on these economic times, as well as some survival tips for small businesses.

Brady Tuefel, a multimedia journalism professor at Cal Poly, introduced the crowd to the major genres of social networking - including Facebook and LinkedIn - and discussed the growing role such sites are playing in the business world.

Roy Henry gave an unforgettable preview of his role as Nat King Cole in the San Luis Obispo Little Theatre production of the legendary entertainer's life and career. Back by popular demand, "Unforgettable" is a fundraiser for the 10th annual Legends Series. Henry sang two numbers from the production.
