The San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce is texting. It was announced at the April Good Morning SLO event that the SLO Chamber of Commerce is now providing text alerts to their chamber members.
Text the word "SLOCHAMBER" to 74700 to sign up for Chamber alerts (a maximum of four text messages monthly). "This is just one more way members can stay connected with the Chamber," said Whitney Diaz, the SLO Chamber's Internet Services and Publications Director. "Although smart phones are very popular, there are many members with regular cell phones that don't have Internet or email access. So, we decided to roll out this Text Messaging program to provide those people with updates on special Chamber events and information."
It's important to note that no more than four alerts will be sent out monthly. Members can receive text reminders about regular Chamber events with location information, such as Mixers and Good Morning SLO, as well as quarterly or new events and information. Participation in the SLO Chamber Text Alerts system is free of charge, but your standard carrier text messaging rates will apply.
This is an ongoing campaign only for members of the San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce. You can opt-out at any time by texting “STOP” to 74700. Your personal information will not be sold or distributed.
We cannot guarantee message delivery response times as it is dependent on your carrier. Some carriers may not support text messaging alerts, so contact your carrier with questions about not receiving alerts or your text message fee rate plan. All participants must be 14 or older to be eligible.
