Lindsey Haring brings both experience and youthful energy to the San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce as the new assistant to the president/CEO.
Replacing Brooke Azevedo, who is leaving the Chamber at the end of September for New York, Haring hopes to bring a modern perspective to better serve the long-term and newer members of the Chamber.
“Lindsey brings energy and fresh ideas to the job and a good understanding of working with business people,” San Luis Obispo Chamber President David Garth says. “Her time management experience will really help me better serve the members.”
Haring’s multiple years of experience in the hospitality industry has more than prepared her for her new role at the Chamber, where she will use her time-management skills daily. This multitasker has also worked closely with Chamber staff in the past.
“I have the life experience, people skills and work ethic that will really help me in my new position,” Haring says. “Already, working with Brooke, I’ve seen her interact with all types of people and temperaments in such a professional, sincere way. I think that’s something I’ll be able to do.”
Haring’s responsibilities include assisting Garth and managing his calendar, organizing numerous Chamber events, including Good Morning SLO and monthly board meetings, as well as staffing the Ambassadors Committee.
Born and raised in California, Lindsey moved to San Luis Obispo in 2003 to attend Cal Poly. She is currently completing courses through the distance education program at CSU Chico and is anticipating graduation in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies.
Lindsey says she is excited to be at the Chamber working with a talented group of people who are passionate about serving the great community.
She enjoys an active lifestyle, the outdoors, spending time with her husband Josh and their families, wine tasting and cooking.
