Leadership San Luis Obispo is now accepting applications for its 20th Class. Next year's 10-month program is designed to bring participants out of their comfort zones. Diversity is important to Leadership San Luis Obispo, and each class is created to have representatives from different cultures, sexual orientations, backgrounds, economic conditions and ages, as well as a range of businesses. The only prerequisite is a desire to give back to the community.
If selected, participants are expected to attend all scheduled sessions, including the retreat (Jan. 6-8, 2011) and each monthly day sessions held on the second Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., February through October. The deadline for submitting this year's application is Oct. 4, and each applicant is asked to attend a group interview in mid-October.
Tuition for the 10-month program is $1,250. But scholarships are available, so don't let the cost stop you from applying. Your Leadership San Luis Obispo tuition includes: - Two nights accommodations at Wonder Valley Resort
- Five meals at Wonder Valley Resort
- A private coach on Tour Day
- Coffee, tea, pastries and fruit at 9 Day Sessions
- Lunch at nine Day Sessions
- Access and exposure to city and county leaders in industry, government, and non-profits. The right to claim kinship and affinity with the nearly 700 Leadership SLO graduates working to make San Luis Obispo County a better place to live for ourselves and for our children.
Partial scholarships are offered to assist those who otherwise couldn't participate. The deadline to apply is Oct. 4.
