French Hospital Medical Center (FHMC) and the physicians of the Templeton Surgery Center are pleased to announce the appointment of Brenda Gray as Templeton Surgery Center’s new director.

As the Templeton Surgery Center Director, Gray is responsible for facility operations including management, planning and coordination of outpatient surgeries and patient care. Gray has more than 15 years of professional experience in the health care management field and has past experience in business management. In 2001, Gray graduated from the University of La Verne with a master’s degree in business administration, advancing her expertise in business development and operations management. Gray also earned a bachelor’s degree from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.

“I am excited about this new position and look forward to working with the Templeton Surgery Center’s accomplished staff of nurses, physicians and other medical professionals who demonstrate excellence in the delivery of patient care,” Gray said. “I also look forward to furthering the CHW Hospitals of the Central Coast’s commitment to bringing the most sophisticated surgical technology and medical expertise to the communities of northern San Luis Obispo County and the entire Central Coast.”

In February 2011, FHMC became the majority owner of the Templeton Surgery Center. Partnering with the physician members of the Templeton Surgery Center enables FHMC to expand health care access to north county residents and to increase outreach services to the underserved in the north county communities. The Templeton Surgery Center’s expert surgeons, skilled staff and state-of-the-art equipment allows the outpatient facility to perform a wide variety of procedures in the specialty areas of general surgery, dental/oral surgery, gynecology, ophthalmology, orthopedic, plastic surgery, podiatry as well as ear, nose and throat surgeries.

Gray is a longtime Central Coast community member and before her recent appointment, she spent the past 10 years serving in an administrative capacity at Twin Cities Community Hospital.
