First California Bank catapulted itself into the San Luis Obispo community by taking the opportunity to support the largest annual business-to-business trade show on the Central Coast.

The San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce announced this month that First California Bank is the major sponsor of the annual Mixer Showcase.

“We’re a community bank and we feel it’s important to be involved in the community we serve,” said Samuel K. Collins, Jr., market president of the San Luis Obispo branch. “The Chamber represents the vast majority of all the businesses in San Luis Obispo, so it aligns well with our goal of supporting community organizations.”

First California Bank took over San Luis Trust after it was forced into federal receivership in February. Not only did First California Bank assume all of the deposits and essentially all of the assets of San Luis Trust, but it has now launched itself into the community by sponsoring a major community event.

The Mixer Showcase features more than 150 booths and is attended by more than 5,000 people every year. Attendees and participants can enjoy giveaways, samples, prizes, food and refreshments at the Mixer Showcase on May 18 from 5 to 8 p.m. at a new location, the Alex Madonna Expo Center in San Luis Obispo.
