Is local airport traffic up or down? Contrary to some media reports, there's actually good news in the airport's traffic numbers.

While traffic is down about 15% year-to-year, it isn't caused by lack of demand but rather lack of available seats. How do we know? Because U.S. Airways added capacity during this past year, its year-over-year sales are up 7.3 percent for January and up 17.3 percent for February.

There continues to be strong demand for flights out of SLO airport, so our mission is to attract new flights in this time of airline route downsizing.
