The San Luis Obispo County Visitors and Conference Bureau named Stacie Jacob as its new executive director. Jacob served as the Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance Executive Director for the past seven years and resigned in May to start her own lifestyle marketing firm, Solterra Strategies LLC, based in Paso Robles. Jacob will serve as a contract executive director for the San Luis Obispo County Visitors and Conference Bureau (SLOCVCB) for the 2011-2012 fiscal year.
Jacob is familiar with the organization, serving as an active member during her seven-year tenure at the Paso Robles Wine County Alliance. She has served on the SLOCVCB Board of Directors, as chair of the board and chair of the Marketing Committee.
"She knows the organization and understands what it takes to lead your organization keeping focused on results," said Board Chair Noreen Martin in an e-mail memo to the SLOCVCB membership. "Stacie’s primary focus is to implement the marketing plan to bring greater awareness to the tourism opportunities for San Luis Obispo County regionally, nationally and globally."
The contract agreement was modeled after the success seen from a contractor model from Savor the Central Coast to the various Business Improvement Districts (BID) in the county. Jacob’s credibility and proven marketing expertise makes her the Board’s choice to lead the county’s tourism efforts, Martin added.
