The threat that the passage of Measure H could pose to public safety response times has many public safety officials endorsing the No on Measure H campaign.
Impartial analysis from the City Fire Department estimates that public safety response times could be up to two to three minutes slower in parts of the city if the measure is passed.
Now, the SLO City Firefighters Local 3523 has joined in the fight against Measure H to allow Prado Road to be finished as planned. They agree that Prado Road is a critical third connection needed between South Higuera and Broad streets. The union joins other Measure H opponents like San Luis Ambulance, which responds to the Fire Department’s more than 3,200 emergency calls in the city annually, and former SLO Police Chief Jim Gardiner and former SLO Fire Chief Bob Neumann.
