Newsmakers/Business Briefs GST Telecommunications has promoted two employees. Steve Richard has been promoted to the position of Inside Sales Manager and Molly Waldron has been promoted to Sales Manager for the San Luis Obispo office. Thrifty Car Rental has added a fourth Central Coast location, expanding service into North San Luis Obispo County with the opening of a rental center in Paso Robles. The new office is located inside the North County Transportation Center, which also serves as the station for Amtrak and Greyhound Bus Company. Liz Hiatt, owner of City Hostess, recently hosted a convention for Welcome Services International. Fifty delegates from across the United States and England came to the area for the five-day meeting. Central Coast Neurobehavior Center, Inc., d.b.a. OPTIONS, was recently accredited by CARF, The Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission, for a period of three years in the areas of Community Employment Services, Personal and Social Services and Residential Services. The National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) has awarded the Cuesta College Public Affairs Office two Medallion Awards for outstanding community college publications. Embassy Suites Hotel has hired Paul Kwong as its new Executive Chef. Kwong, known for his creativity in paring different ethnic cuisines, was founder of the popular Rhythm Café, and worked for the Sea Venture, Hunt Club and Vintner's Inn before coming to Embassy Suites. Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes was lauded in the November 22nd issue of Newsweek Magazine for its innovative and effective LiPS (Lindamood Phoneme Sequencing) program, which helps those who suffer from dyslexia. |
